Nearly twenty-five thousand residences in southeastern Queensland found themselves without power on Monday's dawn after powerful weather events passed over the state, bringing strong winds reaching 109km/h.
Substantial Ice Stones and Broad Damage
Homeowners observed large ice chunks measuring up to seven centimeters in some areas. Weather authorities verified that various areas across the state had been hit with substantial ice precipitation.

Victorian Climate Difficulties
At the same time, nearly one thousand residents in Victoria also experienced electricity disruptions after the metropolitan area saw its most precipitation in over 500 days.
Rescue organizations received nearly 600 calls for help across the region, primarily for structural issues but also for fallen timber and flooding.

At one point on the previous day, over 28k energy customers in Victoria were without power.
Climate Outlook
Moist weather were expected to linger along much of Queensland's east this week as a low-pressure trough continued to pull in damp air against the coast.
The following day was expected to become the most rainy day, with ongoing thunderstorm potential predicted across various areas of both areas.
Health Warning
Public health experts warned that there was an greater possibility of weather-related respiratory issues across the countryside regions, especially given the existing atmospheric conditions.
This warning comes after past events where analogous circumstances led to substantial respiratory problems in the region.
